*laughing*
Loving fantasy since 1960 or so, FRPGs since 1975 (appx), and CRPGs since 1985....

When the Dark comes rising, six shall turn it back,
Three from the Circle, three from the track;
Wood, bronze, iron; water, fire, stone:
Five will return, and one go on alone.

Learned something new today. If you have a Strength stat of 8 or higher, you can rip the minigun off of the Museum of Freedom Vertibird without getting into the power armor.

Started building my load order with Wrye Flash, and I ran into my first in-depth snafu with it. Some mods I've been using since 2016 aren't structured correctly for WF to install them. Reading some more into that revealed that WF can only install mods where the archive is no more than two folders deep. I putzed with one of them for a little bit, before I decided to seek alternatives instead. Might look for a video tut tonight.

I just took the plunge yesterday via Gopher's training vids and loaded up Vortex. Have to say it is very easy to use, has LOOT embedded in it. Can be set to autosort when one adds a new mod. Gives easy to see indications of missing masters, conflicts, etc. The "add from file" feature now can be done by drag and drop of the zip file to the Vortex interface which is very handy. Not sure if Wrye Bash is still needed or if that's even the same as Wrye Flash (is that a newer version?).

Flash is the just the name of the Fallout variant. Can you manually sort mods? I read a while back that Vortez doesn't let you do that, which was a turnoff for me.

Yes you can manually sort mods. I remember watching Gopher do that in the vid that talks about load order. Went through several different ways that it can be done. :D

Neato. I might hold off on continuing my load order with Fallout 4, and give Vortex a shot.

By the way Dhark just went through the Faneuil Hall area where I ALWAYS had FPS issues. Everything was smooth as buttah! Ahhhhhh Nirvana!

So, I'm digging Vortex so far.

I'm actually glad I went this route, because I realized that Bash wasn't installing some mods correctly. That never happened in SSE, though, which is weird.

Congrats on the new rig, Bram! I know the feeling of going into downtown Boston without any stuttering. :D

And though I'm a little late to the conversation (work has sucked out loud lately), I use Mod Organizer II. It also has LOOT built right in, and though it took some time to get used to the setup and file structure, I really like it, especially for putting together my own custom mods. The biggest difference is that it doesn't mess with the native Data file in the game. It keeps every mod contained in its own cozy little file structure, and it's easy to use LOOT as well as sort stuff around on your own. It also has decent documentation.

I wouldn't recommend doing it for a current game. It's possible, since I did it, but it was a pain in the ass to get my current games up and going. I don't think I'll be trading it anytime soon though. :)

Work doth indeed suck, sometimes. Between work and trying to get our deck painted, I'm fresh out of time for most things. I get about an hour on the PC at night, before I'm too tired to look at the screen anymore.

I pray for rain ever day, since it means I can be lazy.

Heh, same work problems here. I'm usually too tired to do more than browse here and Nexus, and taking care of chores. I only find the time to play on weekends.

Dammit, I finally took the time from Rafferty's game to load Brae and RJ, and the saves are so borked, so far back, that I might as well start him over again. :smash: :wall: Tried everything I could, but I was afraid of this from the time way back when I had to re-install the game. I only hope that the preset of Brae is still okay. His game runs, sort of, so I guess if the preset is toast, I can try re-saving it. Half the stuff in-game is not working, even after re-installing, and pieces of the world are missing. It's just Trashed. I am bummed.
