Those first two remind me of an 'ol west shootout! :7:
Home is behind, the world ahead
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadow to the edge of night
Until the stars are all alight
Mist and shadow, cloud and shade
All shall fade, all shall fade

Make 'em dumb, more like it. Love the pics. That depth of field makes it really cinematic!

The Midnight Sulk of John Hancock

"C'mon, c'mon. Say it."

"No."

"Please? I'll even start it off. 'One if by land, two if by—'"

"Your mom."

"I'm pretty sure that's not right."

"How about, 'One—shut the hell up, or two, I will stab you.'"

"You know, for a guy dressed in a period costume, you are NO fun."

"You realize that line was all made up by some poet dude."

"Yeah. Longfellow."

"No, no, not that one. The other one."

"...Thoreau?"

"No."

"Poe?"

"Nuh-uh."

"Emerson?"

"Nah."

"Longfellow?"

"Yeah, that's him."

"Oh, for fuc—"

"Aaanywaaays, my point is, Revere was a freaking spy, part of John Hancock's little network to overthrow the British, thankyouverymuch. Most of Revere's little jaunt would have had to have been done in secret. As in, stealth. As in, exactly the opposite of you, right now, mate."

"Huh. Wow. I had no idea. 'Cause I didn't grow up in Boston and live here my whole life or anything."

"Hmph. Kiss my ass."

"This is officially the worst after-dark walking tour, ever."

"Then you can officially kiss my ass. You're the one that dropped the flashlight, anyway. You look for it."

"Will you at least sing 'Louie, Louie' for me?"

"What?"

"Paul Revere & the Raiders! 1963."

"Um...No. I don't even have idea what you're talking about."

"Well, that's the beauty of it. Nobody does! You just make up the words as you go. Goes like this: ♪♫ 'A-Louie, Louie, ohhhh baby...a wee little boat now. YEAH, YEAH, YEAH, YEAH, I say...' ♫♪ Now just the people down in front!"

"Kill me... Kill me."

"— ♪♫ ooooh baby, I say, a wig and a coat now. YEAH, YEAH, YEAH, YEAH... ♫♪'"

Just havin' a little fun while working on some poses. You gotta wonder how much music was lost to the Great War. I guess Nathan's determined to bring it all back. In one form or another. God have mercy on the Commonwealth.

ROFL! Love it!
Loving fantasy since 1960 or so, FRPGs since 1975 (appx), and CRPGs since 1985....

"Raff, hold up, hold up!"

"What? Quit hollering, we'll have the raiders on our asses from both ends of the bridge."

"It's mined. This damn bridge is always mined, and I forgot. If you want to go this way, we're gonna have to take it quiet, slow, and easy. Dammit."

"Oh. Reeeally."

Sis, have you ungunked the bottom of the mouse lately? I just had to do mine, as movement lag was all of a sudden MASSIVE. I used an antibacterial wipe - because of course the obvious...., Got all better after that.

It's an optical mouse, but yeah, I clean it regularly. Problem is, the cats go on their tears, and have caught the wire too many times, sending the mouse crashing to the floor. I think it's taken it one too many times! :16:

Aireal, Oh, god, I feel SO sorry for him! I can't imagine what else that stupid song is good for other than torturing people. Heck, even the FBI, thought so in 1964. Although, looking up Paul Revere & the Raiders perform it was kind of a delight. :)

And Andra, your post was also a delight! Can't go around? can't go through? Blow it up.

As far as your mouse problem goes, those switches underneath the buttons do wear out. Certain Logitech mice are notoriously bad for that. Same thing happened to one of my gaming mice that was still under warranty, and I called their tech support and went through the wringer to get it replaced for free, and finally just ended up buying a new one on Amazon anyway, because a $37 mouse wasn't worth the hassle of dealing with them. :pbth:

I don't ever buy anything but the cheap Logi 2 button plus middle scroll. They're like $10 from amazon and shipped free with Prime (whereas it would cost me three times that to drive the 80 miles to town and back to save a dollar on it at wally world), last me around 3 years, and work perfectly until they sometimes just flat die. This is the M 100 one.... dirt cheap, and yet pretty solid. Optical, so fairly responsive. I can't deal with all those extra buttons - I have a brand new razer upstairs (well, new three years ago, came free with this computer); I looked at it and put it away - in case I HAVE to have a mouse instantly at some point. Ditto a keyboard - I don't quite know what I'll do if this original Logi G15 dies.... I actually have another one upstairs, but the spacebar sticks which is problematic....

Of course, I still have the M 100 before this one, plugged into the laptop.... so I could always use it. It's about 6 years old, but only USB 2.0 so not quite as responsive....

I'm such a weirdo about peripherals. Keyboards have to be just right because I never learned to type properly--I just made it up as I went, and I type like 80 WPM, but I do it all over the place. I'm also a shortcuts girl in just about every application I use on a regular basis. Why right-click when I have a whole free hand not otherwise doing anything that can Ctrl + C/V/X/Z/Tab or whatever at anytime?

And my Computer Graphics background did nothing if not make me super almost-to-the-point-of-OCD about my mouse. It MUST be wireless because cord drag has literally screwed me over and ruined artwork I'd been working on; it must be battery operated, because I spend more time with a mouse in my hand than any other piece of technology I own, and chargeable mice always quit when I need them most...which is ALWAYS. You can't NOT HAVE a mouse; it MUST be able to track on ANY surface, and I do mean ANY, because I get creative; and it must have DPI cycling, because dragging a mouse without it across a high DPI HD monitor, or two of them (home office setup), or three of them (regular office setup) is like watching someone sleep in slow motion. I also vary between gripping my mouse like I'm hanging onto a cliff, or holding it like a slug that's suctioned itself onto a smooth river rock, so it's got to be a particular shape and size, too. I tried using one of those upright ergonomic mice when I tore some ligaments in my elbow, and it was fun and novel for a while--kinda felt like driving around a baby shark fin, so I sang the Jaws theme a lot--but I went right back to a flat mouse as soon as my arm healed 'cause it just felt too weird (and I was burnt out on the Jaws theme).

So when I find a peripheral I like, I use the crap out of it until it conks out...and then I pull out the replacement I bought the same time I bought the first one, just in case they stop making them. :D

Yeah, but this one IS my replacement! :( Ordering a new one today.
I'm pretty picky too...getting another of the same, because the brand/style/performance just works for me. Besides, it has survived about 8 years with the cats, so it's a good $17 value. LOL
